It's the ultimate test of Nordic skiing endurance!
The Great Glen Nordic 300 is a 300-minute cross country ski race. Borrowing from Great Glen Trails’ signature summer mountain biking event, the 24 Hours of Great Glen, the goal of the competitors in the Great Glen Nordic 300 is to ski as many laps as possible in 300 minutes. First held in 2007, race organizers see the Great Glen Nordic 300 growing every year into one of the most prestigious ski challenges in New England.
Competitors may ski solo or in teams of two. Each team member must use the same technique: skate or classic. The course utilizes the rolls and twists and turns of the Great Glen Trails Nordic ski system at the base of Mt. Washington. We will have water and Powerade available at the Start/Finish/Lap area.
Prizes will be awarded to the fastest solo and teams in each technique.
Great Glen Nordic 300 Rules
1. Skiers can race solo or in teams of 2.
2. Each team/solo chooses his/her technique.
3. Technique can not be changed during the race.
4. One pair of skies per racer the entire race.

9. Check in Station: Racers must log in and log out on each lap at the Check in Station located at the Start/Finish area. Tell the registrar your name and that you are going out. When your teammate comes in he/she must tag you before you can go out. Skier logging in must make sure the registrar knows they are in and the time is noted. The log in time becomes the log out time.
10. Consecutive Laps: Team racers may ski 3 consecutive laps, but must log out at the Check in Station after each lap in order to log-in for the next lap. If a racer does not follow this procedure on each lap, only one lap will be counted.
11. If a skier cannot complete a lap while out on course that skier must walk back to the Check in Station the best possible route without getting in the way of other racers.
12. If a teammate can not complete the race – the team becomes DNF (Did Not Finish).
13. The cannon will fire at 3:00 P.M. indicating the end of the race. Racers do not need to be on course when the cannon fires but no racer can head out on course after the cannon fires at 3:00 PM.
14. All skiers on course must finish their lap by the time the cannon fires, if they complete their lap after the cannon fires at 3:00 pm, the lap will not be counted.
15. The number of laps logged in for each team/solo will then be tallied.
16. The team/solo with the most laps - WINS!
